I checked out early and lost money, even though I left because the property was unreachable during flooding. The street is narrow, dark, and hemmed in by buildings and fences; the water was already touching my sedan, so I wasn’t willing to risk driving farther. I called the owner, but we went in circles. He pointed out a taxi had made it through and offered to call one for me, but couldn’t tell me where I could leave my car. I asked him to cancel and he didn’t. Booking support said they would cancel, but the refund was up to the property, and I didn’t receive one. The photos show the start of the street, which gets deeper as you go. There was also a serious safety incident at the Podstel Hostel. I got an electric shock from the public dryer in the laundry room when I put in coins. I felt dizzy and still had symptoms the following day. At reception, the staff member barely paid attention while I reported it and moved on to registering the next person. Nobody checked whether I was okay. After resting for two hours, I went back to look, and the dryer was still available, with no warning sign or indication that anyone had done anything. I was very disappointed.

The bathroom had a strange poop-like smell coming up from the floor while I showered. Worse, after four nights in RoomA399, I got bitten by bedbugs on the last night (May/2026). I reported it to the hostel and showed them the bites, but they offered no solution. When I contacted agoda, the hostel said I should show the room and the bugs. Who expects bedbugs and waits around to photograph them? They seemed to be dodging responsibility. I don’t even want to give this place a star.

There’s plenty of food around because the place is inside a mall, though prices feel like a rip-off. A single pasta dish in the cafeteria was around 200 Baht. Getting to the room was a hassle. The building is huge and tall, and rooms are far from reception. I was lucky to get “B Zone”; farther lettered zones mean more walking between floors or buildings. My single room was tiny, with the bed nearly against three walls and barely any room to walk or use the small table. At 175 cm, I couldn’t lie straight without bending my knees. The bed squeaked, there was no air conditioner, just a small exhaust fan, and the thin walls and connecting doors let in every sound from noisy neighbors. The location itself is handy for public transport, inside a mall near an MRT station. But service was a total red flag. I spent an hour, from 10:30 PM to 11:30 PM, trying to find reception. Apparently it moves to another building after 10:00 PM, but there was no notice at the original desk on the 3rd floor. The office lady gave me a confusing answer by phone; an office guy later explained it properly, thanks, dude. I booked a single-bed room, but I wouldn’t stay in that hell again. A capsule hotel costs the same and is much better.

I came to the counter at 13.00 and asked if they could start checking me in, then give me the room card at 14.00. They refused. Instead, everyone has to wait until 14.00, line up all at once, and spend ages checking in. What a ridiculous way to make people waste time.

The hallways have had a marijuana smell for weeks, even across repeated stays and complaints, and it got into my room through the ventilation. It made the stay very unpleasant. I’d also had a hygiene problem in a shared room before: my roommate left dirty laundry on my bed and underwear on shared furniture. When I reported that, I was the one told to leave. It felt completely unfair. Most recently, I left my AirPods in the shared bathroom and went back as soon as I realized, but they were gone. I locked them and tracked the location, which at first was still inside the hotel. I asked the staff to review security footage and see who had entered the women’s restroom after me. I was willing to let the police investigate, but staff were reluctant to help. I ended up looking into it myself and filed a police report. I later found out the person who took them was a hotel guest who had pawned them using their ID. Even after I shared that information, the hotel asked me for the suspect’s details instead of checking internally. I’ve stayed here often and expected a reasonable level of service. They need to take lost property, staff cooperation, cleanliness and guest safety seriously.
