Rama 9 No.1 Hotel

The hotel is new and clean, and the staff were friendly, especially the two young women at reception. The frustrating part was that the TV remote and air conditioning controls were in Chinese, which was really inconvenient. Also, it’s too far to walk to shops or restaurants, so you’ll need a taxi to go anywhere.

The room was spacious, the bed comfortable, and the bathroom facilities very modern. Having a convenience store across the street was handy. The receptionist spoke Chinese, so I guess the place is run by Chinese people. One issue: when booking through Trip, the address they provide points to a strange place. You have to enter the correct address manually.

The curtains barely do anything, and there’s nowhere to do laundry. This morning the construction noise has been unbearable.

The hotel feels new and clean, but noise carries through the walls. Early in the morning I could hear people using hair dryers. Getting around was frustrating too: every taxi I took seemed to drop me at the bus stop across the street, and Google Maps was off each time.
