Royal Princess Larn Luang

The pool was nice, and the rooms are large with attractive interiors, but we found dirt in the bathroom and on parts of the floor, plus very dirty windows. Lighting was poorly placed, with a few lights over the bed and none by the entrance. The location puts you near many popular places, though there's nothing around the hotel itself. You have to use taxis or public transport to get around, and the hotel's own meals are overpriced. We didn't use the other services, but would have appreciated fresh water bottles left outside even with the do-not-disturb sign up, as other hotels have done. Our stay wasn't bad, just not worth paying extra compared with other hotels without a 4-star rating.

For a quiet stay, it's peaceful and good value for money. The hotel is somewhat old, the room was acceptable, and there was an unpleasant smell in the corridors. It's also a bit far from the main tourist attractions.

The calm atmosphere away from Bangkok's busy main areas was a plus, and the rooms are spacious. It's a classic-style hotel, with friendly, attentive staff and a pleasant, well-kept pool. Breakfast was good, with Thai and international choices. We were comfortable here, and the service and value were both good.

It's an older building, but it's clean and kept in good shape. Staff are friendly and helpful, and the pool is larger than at most city hotels. I couldn't tell how often it was cleaned. On my long stays, there were lots of European guests using it. I hardly used the pool because there were often too many kids running, jumping in, shouting, and splashing while their parents didn't stop them. That made sunbathing pretty impossible. Parents should be considerate of other guests and teach kids how to behave. Running and jumping around the pool is unsafe, and running and yelling in the halls disturbs people in their rooms. Staff will warn parents if they notice the noise. This is a hotel, not a playground, so families could rent a private home if they want the whole place to themselves. The hotel is large enough for many meetings and training sessions, especially with government officials. When meetings take place, guests share the dining and lobby areas, and large tour groups also come through. The hotel is near a temple and residences, and you'll need to walk around to explore the area. It's quieter than Pratunam. You can ask the hotel to call a taxi or use Bolt or Grab. The food is decent, and like at other hotels, it costs more than street food because you're paying for convenience. Tips are appreciated, especially when staff help you. A few Euro or USD in Thai Baht is enough.
