The City Yaowarat

The location made finding food easy, with the Chinatown night market close by, and the price was very affordable. We were three sharing one room and found it comfortable, with little treats like chocolates and ramen packs provided. The shared bathroom was spotless, so that was fine. Getting our bags up the stairs was a bit of a struggle, and nobody was around to help then :v. Still, we had a great stay and the service was excellent.

The place was a good fit for our group of eight, five adults and three children, and the staff were thoughtful and lovely. The stairs are narrow and steep, so they wouldn’t suit elderly guests. Good location and price for a big group.

We liked being just off the main Chinatown street, where road noise was minimal, and the spacious room was clean when we arrived. The staff made us feel welcome in Bangkok and were genuinely pleasant. They even treated us to free cocktails for New Year’s. A great base for exploring Chinatown without staying in the middle of the bustle. 10/10.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and our room had plenty of space, air con, a fridge, snacks, and breakfast. Chinatown restaurants and bars were just around the corner. We were lucky to be on the first floor, though the steep stairs were hard with heavy luggage; someone helped us when we arrived. The bathroom was clean, but it was down the hall and shared with just one other room on our floor. That wasn’t clear on booking.com, where the place used to be advertised as a hostel.
