There are washing machines on every floor, and you can dry clothes in a designated area on the first floor. The fourth-floor machine cost 35 baht in coins per use, with detergent sold separately, for example at 7-Eleven. Another plus is the five- to six-minute walk across the river to the BTS, making CentralWorld, Siam Paragon, and the wider Siam district easy to reach. A Grab ride to the airport takes about 1.5 hours depending on traffic. Reception staff were generally helpful, and the same team also runs White Ivory Hotel on the main road corner. We chose this alley location away from the main sightseeing areas for a quieter stay, and it delivered. Room 402 has a small balcony over a residential area, a pleasant view, though it was too hot for us to sit out much. There was a thunderstorm one night and the air conditioning worked very well. The power shuts off when you remove the key card, as is common in many hotels. The large fridge has a proper freezer, handy for drinks and simple food, and while there's no cooking setup, we used the shared second-floor microwave a few times. The TV turned on but had no accessible channels. Wi-Fi worked about half the time and was unreliable otherwise. We opted out of daily housekeeping, put our trash bin outside for collection, and asked for toilet paper when needed. They provide one roll a day and two complimentary water bottles daily. It was a decent, reasonably comfortable four-night stay, especially for quiet surroundings with BTS access.

The local night market is a ten-minute walk away, with local prices. Around this small four-storey hotel in busy downtown Thonburi, there are eateries, coffee shops, street-food carts, CJs and 7-11 mini marts. It's a friendly, safe area, though old town and a bit rough around the edges. The hotel is down a quiet Soi. We booked a third-floor studio facing the city. The staff were welcoming and kind, and the hotel was clean and well serviced. Breakfast was delicious in the ground-floor coffee shop. Rooms have a kettle and mugs but no tea or coffee; there are shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner dispensers, a small safe that couldn't fit my iPad, daily bottled water and housekeeping. Airport shuttle is available. There's also a small area with two PCs, with an internet-cafe feel. This side of the river offers a lot more than central Bangkok. BTS Krung Thon Buri is a 5-8 minute walk. Wat Sawetachat is 15-20 minutes away for the Orange ferry, which currently only runs before 9.15am and after 3pm. For ferries up or down the Chao Praya river, take the BTS to Saphan Taksin, right by Saphorn pier N3.

It's a spotless, lovely hotel with very friendly staff and a reasonable price. My room was cleaned every morning, and there's a quiet workspace as well as a nice ground-floor cafe. The MRT station is only five minutes away, with a 7Eleven across the road and lots of local food stalls nearby. I'd definitely recommend it.

This was my third time in Bangkok, and I stayed at The Pattern Boutique Hotel again. It's a little outside the main area, but the BTS is a five-minute walk and gets you downtown in fifteen minutes. The neighborhood is quiet, with food stalls, pharmacies, and about five 7/11s close by. The staff are great and very helpful. Rooms are small, but they're fine.

Good spot near the BTS, with lots of local food nearby. The toilet, bed, and blanket were clean, there were plenty of charging sockets, and the water heater, Wi-Fi, and customer service were good. They could speak English. The TV didn't work and had no channels. I was charged 150 baht for using a mini foot towel, but nobody from customer service had told me about that beforehand, and they hadn't provided the foot towel either. Confusing.
