We were refunded, but this stay was a really upsetting experience. I had booked four rooms and clearly given the staff each guest’s name. Rooms 1-3 were fine. When my friend arrived to check into room 4 around midnight, the night shift said the key for that name had already been handed out and there were no rooms left. My friend had to sleep in the car while waiting for my wedding the next morning. I checked with the friends in rooms 1-3, and they confirmed they had received three room keys, just as planned. The next day, the day shift told me room 4 had not been occupied. I called the staff member I’d spoken to the night before; they said they would check with the night shift. Later that evening, someone called back with an explanation from the night shift: he said he didn’t know who had checked in because all four keys had gone to the first group of guests. I reminded him that I’d given them all the guests’ names. He kept insisting, “They gave them all away!!!” Eventually, the night shift said the key to room 4 had been left under some paper or a vase in front of the counter, where they couldn’t see it. We couldn’t understand why nobody had checked properly for the key or checked whether the room was actually occupied, especially with so many people checking in. Another upsetting part was someone interrupting to say we were speaking rudely to the night shift and treating them like they weren’t “people.” We admit we were loud and emotional, but we didn’t swear or insult anyone. They denied the problem and kept saying they had already given us the key. They wouldn’t listen and repeatedly interrupted while we tried to explain, so we asked them to stop talking and hear us out. They said their friends were noisy, disruptive, and drunk. There were women with them that day, though, and not everyone was drunk. We asked to speak with the staff member handling the case since we weren’t getting anywhere with the night shift. The hotel refunded our money.

The only things that worked well were the TV and water heater. The rest of the room was a letdown: dust on the floor and TV wires, old flat pillows that made sleeping impossible, and itchy blankets and mattress that bothered my arms and legs. The bathroom was poorly kept, and the toilet leaked when flushed. Mosquitoes were everywhere at night, so I couldn’t sleep. This was my first stay and will probably be my last. I hope the staff maintain the property more regularly.
