Patty was a very friendly host who speaks good English. She was helpful without getting in our way. When we said we needed to reach Bangkok, she arranged a minibus to collect us and had her cousin walk us five minutes to the corner. We found the stay very comfortable. The AC worked great, the towels were good, and things were easy and straightforward. The bikes worked too. I'm from the USA, and for anyone unfamiliar with more budget stays in Thailand, there are a couple of things to know. The shower is in the same room as the toilet, with no divider, just a drain in the corner. That's normal in Thai homes, though hotels often add a divider to match Western expectations. There are also some gaps in the windows, and the bathroom vents outside, so small or even larger bugs can get in. A little lizard, about 4 cm, crawled into our bathroom. It didn't bother us because you see lizards all over the street. But if a lizard in the sink would ruin your stay, you might prefer to pay double somewhere else. There's a fridge, and if you're comfortable with the hostel kind of setup, you can use the stove downstairs to cook. The 7 eleven is about two short blocks away. Separate from the hotel, I also rented a scooter at the corner shop. That was easy, and they took a picture of my passport instead of keeping it.
