In early February there were very few tourists, which made this a lovely quiet place to stay. The resort can provide meals and drinks, and breakfast is free. There were a couple of dogs and four puppies on the beach. I don't mind dogs, but my wife and I had to avoid some dog mess during our walk, or it could have got messy.

We ended up driving an hour up the coast after deciding not to go to the islands, and found this little hidden gem in Ta Krop. It felt like a real local getaway, with a small roadside restaurant serving amazing local dishes and wonderful staff. We had the resort to ourselves for most of our stay. Even ten stars wouldn’t feel like enough for this great find.

It's very remote, with no shops or restaurants nearby, and the beach isn't much good for swimming. The rooms are clean and the staff are really friendly and helpful. The beach and garden feel a bit cluttered, with tables, chairs and swings all over, plus rubbish next door. The newly planted palm trees are a big plus.

The restaurant was delicious, and the lady in the kitchen was very friendly. But the owner was terrible and very greedy. We wanted to cancel one night because nothing except the rooms was as it should be. The beach was covered in trash and plastic, there was no playground for the kids, the pool was dirty, and there was construction everywhere. There was no coffee or ice.
