Antiya Hotel Phuket

We’re really enjoying our stay, and my partner is too. It’s been peaceful for us, and this is one of my favorite places we’ve stayed in Thailand so far, out of about 15. Some of the low reviews feel harsh, though maybe improvements have been made. Comparing it with other places, we found it reasonably priced and would recommend it. Just don’t expect everything to be perfect in Phuket unless you want to pay triple or more. We’d stay again, though we personally aren’t fans of the traffic and westernization of Phuket. We have a king lake view room. It feels more like a small apartment than a hotel room, with modern, spacious rooms, fresh bedding, two comfortable pillows each with small pillows, four large towels, and two small ones. There were toothbrushes, hair covers, a razor, and little lotion bottles. The towels on the bed were folded into a swan and hearts, maybe for Valentine’s Day. Some towels had nice Antiya logos. The TV has a few English channels, which we hadn’t found in most places before. There’s also a microwave, and we used the washing machine and dryer for free. I could smell the cleaning products when I arrived. If that bothers you, open the balcony door for half an hour to air the room out. It’s a good idea to air it daily anyway. I saw the pool being cleaned with a machine. I don’t think it’s dirty, though it could use a revamp soon. Everywhere I’ve been in Thailand so far has needed one somewhere. The rooms were clean compared to other places we’ve stayed. I personally enjoyed breakfast. Remember you’re in Thailand, so don’t expect the same breakfast as at home. The Thai dishes are delicious, give them a try. There’s also toast bread, fresh fruit, free coffee, juice, milk, cornflakes, and chocolate cereal. Eggs were fried fresh in front of us in the kitchen area, so a review I saw saying otherwise isn’t true. Staff were very friendly and attentive when we needed anything. I haven’t seen a single cockroach. The only real downside was that some areas could use a little revamp, but it was minor and didn’t bother us. Things get worn with time. The shower looks futuristic, but some of its features didn’t work. It still showered us just fine. Cats visit, like at many places in Thailand. If you like cats, you can give them some love and maybe a small sachet of cat food from one of the little stores around the corner, like 7 eleven or C mini mart.
