I can't recommend Baan Suan anymore. It wasn't the place I remembered from years ago, and neither of the problems I ran into was properly dealt with by the owner during my stay. First, my room had mites eating the wood. I heard them at night and initially thought the sound came from the ugly tape over the bed wood. After I complained, I was moved to a room with a terrible smell. Staff tried air freshener and burnt coffee, but the issue seemed to be the sewerage, which contained old, rotten food. Since nobody took responsibility or seemed concerned, I spent a couple of days figuring out what product might work. Thankfully I got rid of the smell, though it took a whole week.

We stayed for a month and had a good time. The pool is lovely, and there’s plenty of nature around. It’s a nice hotel if you’re here to work out. If your trip is mainly for the beach, stay by the beach instead of complaining that this place is geared toward fitness.

They moved me out of my first room because there was no running water. In the next room, dirty water from the bathroom leaked and stayed unfixed for days. The fridge didn't work either, and faulty wiring kept making the electricity switch off and on. They also kept my key card deposit and blamed the new management.
