Tanrak Bungalow by OYO Rooms

The rooms were old and dirty, with bugs everywhere and lamps that flickered. The AC just moved hot air around, and there was no housekeeping or service. After two weeks I decided to move out, but they refused to refund me. They claimed I’d used over 5000thb of electricity in those two weeks, which I believe was completely made up so they could keep the money. I don’t recommend this place. Stay away.

I spent a month there and had a terrible experience. The rooms were very dirty and full of bugs, with no soap or toilet paper and no room service. The old curved bed was so uncomfortable I felt it would break my back. For a couple of days, the water turned yellow and smelled like seawater. The owners were rude and lied, and barely spoke any English. They tried to overcharge me for electricity, but I’d taken a photo of the meter before check-in. I’d paid my deposit in USD and asked for it back in USD, but they returned it in Thai baht. I wouldn’t recommend staying there.

We’d definitely stay here again. The room is cleaned once a week, and there’s a kitchen to use. The main downside was random power cuts, but each lasted under 30 minutes. They happened three times during our month there, always in the daytime. We paid 14,000 baht for the month since it was high season. The woman we dealt with was super friendly and fluent in English.

There’s a lot of potential here. The place is quiet, and it rents spacious studios or small detached houses by the day, week, or month.
