The reception staff member was a young man who was genuinely kind and helpful. He tried hard to find us a room with less black mold and handled it professionally. I hope management will soon carry out a full renovation, because the place has potential and the staff deserve it. The hotel currently has a very serious mold problem, and the Thai authorities should consider temporarily closing it for renovations. The first room we were given was badly affected by black mold on the walls, bed, and bedsheets, and the pillows were visibly damaged. We changed rooms about five times because the air in some of them didn't seem safe for an overnight stay. Even one night in those conditions could cause health problems, especially for children. With the air conditioning running, our clothes still picked up the mold smell within a few hours. We were fortunate to find a more ventilated room on the fourth floor, at the end of the corridor by the ramp to the fifth floor, though others may not have that option. The price should reflect the property's current condition. Check your room carefully when you arrive, and management should address this as soon as possible. The staff deserve to work somewhere that matches their kindness and professionalism. I'm giving five stars in the hope that the management will fully renovate soon.
