My husband and I chose the Akira Thaphae for our honeymoon, and it was perfect. The Lanna-style architecture throughout the hotel and room was gorgeous, and everything was spotless. The staff were sweet and accommodating, and the bed was extremely comfortable. We also loved the huge shower and bath. It’s on a quiet, adorable side street, close to a 7/11 and an excellent base for the Old City and Tha Phae gate. 10/10!

Everything felt worth the price. The room was comfortable, with a soft bed and a spacious toilet, and the surroundings were nice. I loved it here.

The hotel has a charming style, and the rooms are cozy and lovely. The hot water is the issue: the heater doesn’t seem strong enough for either the shower or the bathtub. To get hot water, you have to keep the tap from running fully, so filling the tub takes ages. Breakfast is pretty basic, more like a 3-star than a 4-star offering.

Everything we needed was easy to reach on foot, from temples and sightseeing to shops, coffee and tea places, street food, restaurants, and the night market. There are several Michelin-rated restaurants and vendors nearby, including the Roti lady just around the corner, with five current Michelin Guide recommendations. We tried her banana roti, made to order, and loved it. Don’t miss this legendary lady if you get the chance. Chiang Mai is so much fun, and this hotel won’t disappoint. It also gets five stars from me for safety, cleanliness, comfort, service, and location.

We absolutely love this new hotel. The building’s style is fantastic, the room layout is thoughtfully done, and the value for money is incredible. Such a pleasant surprise!
