Ban Narai River Guesthouse

Our arrival was awful: their dog bit me. We were told it had happened before, yet the dogs weren’t kept in, and they remained outside during our stay. The hotel paid our medical costs, but there was no acknowledgement of how badly this affected our holiday. I needed five rabies shots and a tetanus shot, and had to make trips to the hospital. We left soon after. Incredibly disappointing. Don’t book.

The room’s air conditioning was broken, there was no soundproofing, and the WiFi password didn’t work. The dog kept pushing the door open and letting mosquitoes in, while the garden felt like a dog run. From the staff or owner, all I heard was “Whee,” with no thanks. I was so uncomfortable I left after one night, even though I’d booked two. I don’t understand the high rating.

I work as a gardener, so the place won me over easily. It has a relaxing atmosphere that I’d definitely recommend if you’re nearby.
