The rooms were clean, comfortable, and tidy, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout. The pool area is pleasant, although the water is very cold and heavily chlorinated. Breakfast was a standard buffet, basic but fine for a quick start. Wi-Fi dropped out quite a bit, which made working or streaming difficult at times. It’s a busy area, so you hear traffic and planes, though I imagine they’ve soundproofed as best they can. Check-in was slow because I’d booked two Deluxe Twin rooms through lastminute.com, but the hotel system showed only one booking. After we’d waited around 30 minutes, staff asked us to wait another 30 while they sorted it out. They said both rooms were being upgraded to “Premium,” but when we got in, they looked exactly like the original rooms. Reception reassured me it was an upgrade, though I couldn’t see a difference. The fitness corner was a real disappointment. It was dusty and musty, the equipment was old and some of it broken, and everything was packed into a tiny space. It doesn’t match the impression online, and I don’t think the hotel should advertise a gym in its current condition. The staff were kind and the rooms clean, but several facilities need updating to meet the expectations set online.

The night manager moved me when I complained about the dreadful water-pump noise in my original room on the 16th floor. Room 1010 was lovely. The hotel is pretty good and has lots of space, which makes it good for seniors. The bed is firm, and the pillows aren’t too lumpy. Some parts are a little outdated, but that’s okay. Water pressure is good and the water is hot. The room is quiet, with a bit of noise from planes and loud motors.

My stay at Chiangmai Grandview Hotel & Convention Center was disappointing. The room and the hotel in general weren’t up to standard. The facilities seemed outdated and poorly maintained, and cleanliness could be better. The room comfort and general atmosphere fell short of what I expected from a hotel in this category. The experience was below average, and I hope they improve maintenance and service quality.

I wasn’t staying at this traditional local hotel, just using its conference room. Lunch was a very good experience, with a variety of tasty menu options. The location is easy to reach.
