Hotel Matana

We were there for a week, and the breakfast was awesome. The pool was nice and clean, the reception ladies spoke good English, and our room was very clean. The hotel is pretty far from the "old city", but with a scooter rental for 200 baht/day you can get everywhere in just 10 minutes. It’s one of the nicest hotels we’ve stayed at. We’ll definitely come back. Thank you hotel matana.

The pool was nice and the ambiance was great. It was very relaxing in the daytime, since nobody stays at the hotel then. Breakfast was giant, and the bed was big and comfy. Everything felt very new and clean, with a touch of modern Europe in an Asian area. Lovely stay.

I gave it another try and stayed here again, but the bathroom was even dirtier this time. The bed cushions were in terrible shape, and there were water bottles left in the fridge by a previous guest. Really disgusting. Even on my first stay, I found the restroom dirty, and most rooms seemed smaller than average for Chiang Mai. The TV only had three Thai channels.

The room was clean and the atmosphere was nice, but getting around was a problem. It’s far from the old city and pretty much everywhere else, and there’s no room service, lift, kitchen, or shuttle. Saturday night was really noisy because speakers from the nearby night market were playing songs, though maybe that was an unusual case.
