Montha Hotel

The staff were lovely and accommodating. By my second day, they had my breakfast pass ready when I walked up. On days I skipped room cleaning, they still left two bottles of water at the door. The hotel is also a pickup and drop-off point for several tours, which made arranging them convenient. I saw other guests using the free bikes, but forgot to try one myself. It would've been better than walking around the old city. My room had plenty of space and a nice balcony, and breakfast was decent. The one snag was the lack of accessible outlets. I had to unplug the TV to use the only one I could reach, though that was enough for me. The location is great, just off the beaten path but a block from the main road with bars, restaurants, shops, and activities. Several night markets are walkable, or a Grab ride is inexpensive.

The rooms were quiet even during busy hours, which made it easy to rest and sleep well. They were also clean and well maintained, with clear attention to hygiene and detail. The employees were polite, professional, and respectful, and always ready to help with questions or requests. They made me feel welcome from arrival, and communication was friendly and smooth. The hotel felt comfortable and well organized, with everything handled properly. I had a very pleasant, satisfying stay and would happily choose it again. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, relaxing experience.

We stayed four nights and had a great time. Rooms were clean, each one we used had a small balcony and fridge, and the staff were very friendly. They can arrange local tours and the usual tourist activities. WiFi worked well, and you can walk to lots of places from here. Buffet breakfast runs 8-11 a.m. and costs 200 Baht, though we didn't try it. Parking looked a bit limited, so check ahead. If you're hunting for an outlet, there are some under the bedside tables.

Staff are great, the rooms have plenty of space and everything I need, and breakfast is good. You can get eggs cooked how you like, plus other buffet choices. Montha is a typical Chiang Mai budget hotel, so it doesn't cost much, about £23 a night or £25 with breakfast, but the rooms are still nice. It's become my go-to in Chiang Mai because it's two minutes from Loi Kroh Road, with lots of bars and places to eat. A bit rustic, as Chiangmai is, but it suits me well.
