After a day exploring the old city, Makka Hotel’s quiet courtyard and calm atmosphere felt especially welcome. The public areas are lovely, with white arches, plants, warm lights, and dark wood details. The design feels thoughtful without trying too hard to look luxurious. It’s easy to walk to temples, cafes, little shops, and other parts of the old town, and the airport isn’t too far by car. My room and the facilities were simple and comfortable. If you’re hoping for a big pool or a full resort experience, this may not be the place, but I’d happily recommend it for a peaceful boutique stay with character.

Breakfast was included in our rate and was very nice, with dishes made to order. We stayed for two nights and found the rest of the hotel stunning, though the rooms are starting to show some wear. It’s in a great central location.

I really enjoyed my stay at Makka. It’s very close to the Sunday walking street market, but the hotel itself stays quiet at night. My bed was crisp, clean, and comfortable, and breakfast had a good range of choices served off the menu instead of buffet-style. The space is lovely to look at, comfortable, and relaxing, with a thoughtful design throughout. The staff were charming and helpful, and did their best to meet guests’ needs. Thank you, Makka.

The rooms had a great style and the surroundings were beautiful, with a very good location too. The service was fantastic. Staff were so helpful, even booking our taxi to the airport, and let us leave our bags after checkout. Six stars!

We had a deluxe room on the second floor, which I’d recommend. It was spacious and bright, with a sitting area. Breakfast was really good too, with lots of cooked Thai and Western dishes to order. The hotel is right in the centre of the old town, yet feels like a peaceful little escape, with lovely gardens and architecture. There’s no pool, but Chiang Mai has plenty to do, so I was glad to get out and explore. Very good value.
