The beds were comfortable and the price was decent. I didn't see any staff since check-in is self-service after 8pm. I'd stay again for a night or two.

I was in a shared room with six people, arranged with three bunk beds. The bed and blanket were comfortable, but the pillow was flat and could use more filling. Each bed had a curtain, and there was enough room to walk around. It stayed fresh during the day, with the fan making it feel a little cool. The room had excellent AC from 4pm to 9am, plus three fans. The bathroom is outside the room, with two showers and four separate toilets. Shampoo and shower gel were provided, as was a towel with no deposit. Lockers are in the room, but only fit a small bag. The room and bathroom were clean. The owner was super nice and lovely. Breakfast wasn't included, though you could buy eggs on site for 10 baht each, and they tasted very good. It's on the northeast side of the old city, near inexpensive restaurants and the western party area. Two 7-eleven stores are close, and a nice smoothie shop is 15s away. Date: 30/3/25

The pillow and sheet smelled strongly of someone else's sweat, so it was clear the bedding hadn't been changed. I told a staff member, who didn't seem to understand at first. I asked her to smell it herself. The edges didn't smell, but the middle had a very strong, unpleasant body odor. Even after she noticed, she didn't acknowledge the problem and only offered to change the bedding if I wanted. I had to wait downstairs while it was done. To be fair, they did replace it with clean bedding. I understand it may be difficult for a business to admit the bedding wasn't changed, but I sincerely hope they provide fresh bedding for each new guest. It's a simple thing that shouldn't affect either the guest's or host's experience. Shortly after I posted my review, two staff members came and knocked very aggressively on my door. They handed me cash and told me to leave. I've never had anything like this happen before. The woman said I had to get out immediately because I'd given them a 3-star review, and said it was her home. The police arrived, and I asked for the woman to apologize for her rude behavior. The police didn't speak English, and everyone was talking in Thai. A staff member translated and said the woman would only apologize if I deleted the review. I won't delete it. In all my years traveling and living in different countries, this is the first time I've experienced anything like this. They are a family business, which also means there aren't real hospitality standards. It felt more like a local gang, as if this were their territory.

The location was perfect, right in the center and close to everything. We were in room 1, where the bathroom had terrible mold. We had to keep the fan running and the sliding door shut all the time, but the smell was still bad. The room's air conditioning was great and kept it cool despite that awful odor. The woman was friendly, and we got clean towels outside the door and a bottle of water in the communal fridge each day. Given her service and the price and location, I can't rate it below three stars.
