Nampiangdin Boutique Hotel

The room was a good size, with a balcony facing the pool and a safe inside. I especially liked the little things the staff noticed: after seeing me use a chair to keep the curtains shut on the first night, they set it up that way for us every evening. They also arranged our cooking class, hike, and scooter rental, and drove us to the old city. Airport pickup and drop-off were available too. Breakfast had a good range, including yogurt and cereal, which was new for us in Thailand. The automatic Nescafe machine also had coffee and chocolate drinks. Everyone was responsive and helpful. Wish we could've stayed longer.

We only stayed for one night, and the honeymoon setup was a lovely surprise. We hadn't expected it and really appreciated the team's effort. The bed was very comfortable, and we were happy with our stay. One thing that would make things easier for guests is a return ride from the hotel after visiting Ta Pae Gate Market, since the hotel currently offers a ride there but not back.

The traditional look of the building is part of the appeal, and the room was lovely, spacious and comfortable. The pool is a decent size for cooling off, though the hotel surrounds it so there's not much sun. It was clean, but the grout looked as if it could use a scrub or more pool chemicals. The breakfast was okay, but after my 10 nights there, some variety would've helped. There's a shuttle tuk tuk into town, though sometimes no driver is available. The hotel is on the edge of the old town, but walking around Chiang Mai is easy and Grab is always an option. Most of the staff I met were warm and helpful, even though the man who checked me in wasn't very welcoming. The room, pool and dining area had a really nice atmosphere, and I'd stay again. Also, they have a beautiful fish I named Bluey because he's blue!

It felt like staying at a friend's or family's place, and for what we paid, we had no complaints. The service was nice, and if you ask, they provide a free van ride to or from the airport. At check-in I also found out they have a free tuk tuk to the main tourist area in the city center.
