Neat Hostel

I ended up staying three weeks after deciding to extend instead of moving elsewhere, and I’m glad I did. It was easy to meet people, though I can see how the social side might feel quieter for some. This definitely isn’t a party hostel. The place was among the cleanest I’ve stayed in. The bathrooms were spotless, the showers roomy, and I always slept well on the slightly firm mattress. The one bad night was because of a loud snorer, which isn’t the hostel’s fault. Laundry was good value too: washed, dried, ironed, and folded within 24 hours, back the next morning. Mali was so kind, and all the staff were great about answering questions and helping out. I can’t wait to return to Chiang Mai and stay at Neat Hostel again. Thanks, Mali and Neat Hostel staff, for putting so much care into the place.

Before my early flight, I needed somewhere for just one night, and Neat Hostel was lovely and good value. The bunks and bathrooms were very clean. Mali was especially accommodating with my very late arrival and shared some neighborhood tips. I felt safe there as a solo female traveler.

The host is a lively lady, and there’s free coffee and biscuits, which was a nice touch. I stayed two days. The place was kept neat, the beds were nice, and the toilets were clean.

We were sad to leave after six nights in the family room with two friends. The hosts were such a warm, sweet, helpful pair, and their English was great. They even arranged a private driver for Doi Inthanon the next day so we could set our own itinerary. Everything was clean, the showers were good, and the beds were comfortable. The neighborhood felt safe and very quiet, while still being central to the Old Town and a short distance from Nimmanhaemin. It’s a small, non-party hostel, but we met other guests and found it friendly. We’d love to stay again.
