Nordwind Hotel

The pool had a noticeable chlorine smell, and the plastic furniture around it gave off an odor in the sun. Wooden furniture would make that area more pleasant. My room's AC also took a minute or two to start cooling, and sometimes an unpleasant smell came through the bathroom vents, probably from other rooms. It might help for the hotel to check the ventilation. The room itself was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with proper tables and chairs, including a dressing table with a mirror and another small table with two chairs beside the bed. Breakfast was nice and varied. The woman at reception was extremely kind and made everything easy from check-in through check-out. Apart from those issues, it was an enjoyable and comfortable stay with friendly staff and a nice atmosphere. I'd be happy to return.

Breakfast was plentiful, with hot dishes changing each day, and all the staff were lovely. The area had a very local feel, with great places to eat around, and a 7-Eleven about five minutes away by the canal. Plenty of amenities were easy to reach. The hotel had lifts to all floors, street-level parking, and provided three complimentary bottles of water daily, toothbrush kits, soap, and shower caps. We didn't use the swimming pool. We spent a week at the Norwind in a superior mountain-view room. Everything was good until the final night, when new guests in the room beside us were loud late at night. We left some luggage there for a week and returned to another superior room with an adjoining door. It wasn't as good as our first room, and once again the guest next door was inconsiderate and shouted on the phone at 5:30 a.m.

The pool was there, and the hotel is close to the night bazaar. The service was good, and the staff were very nice. Breakfast was good too. We had trouble with our room because of a bad smell, which I think came from the pipes, and ants on the bed. After we told them, they moved us to room 705, and that one was okay.

The rooms were nice and clean, and the staff were friendly. Breakfast was good for a Thai-style meal. The spot was great too. Our only issue was noise coming through the adjoining family-room door, which had no soundproofing.
