Pak Chiang Mai Guesthouse

The garden and lobby are beautiful, and the hotel is close to the market and lots of attractions. The air conditioning struggled a bit during the day, but we were hardly in the room then, so it didn’t bother us much.

The location made it easy to get around Old Town, with the Saturday walking street market less than a five-minute walk away and most other sights nearby. Our room was roomy, comfortable, and clean, and they even set up a cot for our toddler. Breakfast was included and lovely, with free bottled water and tea and coffee available anytime. The staff were so helpful, and the office kitty was adorable. We loved staying at Pak Chiang Mai!

We chose it for the central location, and that mattered more to us than total quiet. The wooden Thai building and its materials mean there can be quite a bit of daytime noise, so it may not suit someone wanting complete silence. Still, we really enjoyed our stay. The rooms are lovely and clean, with charming details, and the staff are amazing. Breakfast was good, though there weren’t any vegan options. There’s also a very cute garden by the entrance and common area. It’s good value, and I’d recommend it for visiting Chiang Mai’s old center.

It was easy to walk to almost everything we wanted, and tuk tuks were easy to catch on the main road just outside. Across the street, Faces is a gorgeous restaurant for dinner, with a lovely atmosphere and delicious food after a day of walking. Back at the hotel, the old city bustle felt far away. The subtle water features, wood floors, and mist made it a peaceful little oasis, and I spent hours reading on the swing and listening to the water. Breakfast each day was delicious. The staff were kind and attentive while still giving us room to relax. Highly recommend, and I can’t wait to come back!
