Ratchiangsaen Flora House

We were kindly given a late checkout because of our late flight, and we appreciated that. For the price, the place is fairly good value, though our stay had some rough spots. The room was old and dirty in places. The floor left our feet black and felt sticky, the bathroom drains smelled, and the sink drained slowly before eventually blocking. From what we saw coming and going, the housekeeper seemed to spend more time sleeping than cleaning. We were upgraded to a larger room, but the extra space was taken up by an unnecessary single bed. The double bed was only just big enough for us. Street noise and barking dogs were hard to get used to. That may be outside the property’s control, but it’s worth knowing. The coffee shop never seemed to be operating, and we didn’t see any customers there. Check-in was easy, but no one explained how to get in at night after the doors were shut. I pushed the door open and set off an alarm. There’s a swipe sensor on the keyring, but we hadn’t been told. We’d wanted to love the place because of its pretty exterior and reasonably good location. If the cleanliness improved and the rooms were updated, I might consider it again. There are worse places to stay in Chiangmai, and there are better ones too. It’s all subjective, of course. 👍🏻

The owner stopped by today, Mon. April 25, 2022, introduced herself, and thanked me for staying. She was very nice and respectful, and told me to make myself at home. She made me feel like part of the family. The staff are extremely friendly, the rooms are beautiful, and the place and location are excellent. The rates are great, and they’re willing to negotiate. Flora House offers daily, weekly, and monthly rates.

Bloom Café & Alfresco is attached, and the breakfast there is one you won’t regret trying! With only three or four rooms, the place feels personal, like a family-run home that welcomes you as one of their own. The staff were polite, friendly, and always happy to chat. They were also willing to go above and beyond, helping with personal errands and anything else they could. There’s a slight old-fashioned Victorian feel, along with a floral theme. Definitely worth considering for a trip to Chiang Mai.

The staff were incredibly kind and polite, and the rooms were spacious, clean, and lovely. Each one has its own balcony with a nice view. It’s a beautiful place to stay, and we’ll be back someday for sure!
