Siriwan House

The location is brilliant, close to several markets and the main town. We stayed in a private room, and it was lovely, clean, and had a comfortable bed. There were lots of bathrooms, so one was always available, and they were clean too. The hosts were absolutely wonderful. They spoke very good English and were super helpful with our questions and excursion bookings. The main area is lush and calming, with places to socialize. It wasn’t a super social hostel, but it was still lovely to relax outside. 10/10, would recommend.

The traditional wooden houses are scattered around a beautiful, well tended garden, which feels like an oasis of peace amid Chiang Mai’s bustle. You hear birds all day and frogs at night. There are plenty of comfortable little nooks around the garden for reading or hanging out. It’s very, very clean. I was there in low season, with fewer guests, and still saw the full cleaning crew working every single day. The staff are lovely, and the guys at reception speak perfect English and are a treasure trove of local information. I came for a couple of days and ended up extending my stay to two weeks. I had an incredible time here and would absolutely recommend it to friends.

They stored my luggage twice and made it possible to change my plans at short notice. The people here are lovely. Sleeping was harder, though. Our two person room was on the second floor, right next to the smoker island, and smoke kept coming in all night through the big gaps between the wooden boards. We were also getting smoke from the hallway, since the anti mosquito spirals run the whole time. I understand they’re very important in Chiang Mai, but I’d prefer proper sealed houses with windows and mosquito nets. Thank you!

The garden is beautiful and peaceful, and the rooms are clean and comfortable. The Wi-Fi and staff were good, and the location was perfect. The owner even let us leave our bags while we went on a long scooter trip, and no complaints from us. My boyfriend and I have stayed here twice now, a year apart, and absolutely love it. The owner still remembered us when we came back. Super recommend this place!
