Sridonchai Heritage Chiang Mai

A quiet, clean, well-kept little hotel at a fair price. The Night Bazaar is close, and you can walk to lots of places from here. We recommend it.

The hotel is clean, rooms are delightful, and the location and value are both great. But on our first stay a few weeks ago, we had a strange check-in. Reception was empty, so we waited around ten minutes before a young woman came in carrying drinks. She smiled when we said hello, then carried on pottering about. When we asked if she worked there, she said yes and kept going about her business. We asked if she knew we were waiting with our bags, and she seemed not to understand, just smiling. Eventually we got our room. I assume she was sweet natured but unaware that we needed help.

We booked one night and ended up staying four because the location is so central and the hotel is small and quiet. It has four floors, no passenger elevator, but there is a lift for luggage. The room was very clean, the bed comfortable, the shower good, and the staff friendly and helpful. From some road-facing rooms you might spot squirrels running over the roofs and power lines. I’d recommend it.

We stayed for 10 days and loved it. The location is perfect, just a short walk from markets, restaurants and bars. The room was spacious and very clean, with a great shower and a perfect balcony. The air conditioning was a welcome break from the intense heat, and the free water was a huge bonus. The staff were incredible, super friendly and helpful.
