Stay North Gate Bed and Breakfast

We felt extremely safe, and the receptionist and cleaner were both incredibly kind and helpful. Reception is staffed only from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., but the self check-in instructions were clear and they provide an emergency number for help outside those hours. The place is quiet, cozy, and clean, in a good location that's walkable to lots of places and just a short Bolt scooter ride from others. We enjoyed it so much that we extended our stay for several nights. I'd absolutely recommend it.

The food market across the street is fantastic, and the location is great. Staff were super helpful. The rooms and common areas were really clean, and the beds were spacious with lockers for bags.

We booked three nights but couldn't sleep because the water pump roared all night. In the morning we asked to move rooms, but they said there wasn't another room and they couldn't fix it. We checked out at 9 a.m. and asked for a refund on the remaining two nights, which they refused. booking.com told me to contact the hotel again, but we tried five times and couldn't get anywhere. I don't recommend staying here.

The staff were friendly and the service was good. The room was average, and the breakfast made me happy, but the rate felt a bit high given the other issues. I didn't like having to leave our shoes at the staircase before going up to the rooms. The gap in the room door meant you could see inside, which made my wife feel unsafe. A key card is needed to enter the hotel, but there's no staff at night, so if something happens, you're on your own.
