Thannatee Boutique Hotel

We were picked up from the airport, helped with booking tours, and had a wonderful breakfast buffet every morning. The rooms are amazing and unique, with AC, TV and a safe, and the staff kept them clean each day. It’s a beautiful hotel with helpful, very friendly staff. The location is great too, on a quiet street just outside the old city. I’d highly recommend staying here.

The bed was very comfy, and the location was excellent, just a minute or two on foot from the city square. It stayed quieter there, away from the backpacker crowd. The pool area was nice, with a koi pond and stream. The breakfast was OK, though there were fewer options than at the other places we stayed. The small hotel is beautifully decorated, from the tile work to the dark wood and other details. Rooms are on the small side but fine for a shorter stay. One issue: our bathroom door was hard to close, and the window had been left open when we arrived, so there were lots of mosquitos in the room.

The free airport shuttle was a luxury van with reclining leather seats, and the service was impeccable. Breakfast was plentiful, with fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereal, pancakes and Thai dishes. They cooked eggs to order, and the scrambled eggs were particularly nice. The juice was sweetened and pretty horrible. The pool area looks small, but there was never anyone there, so it was easy to have it to ourselves. The decor throughout the hotel is impressive and lovely. The bed is slightly too big for the room, as other reviewers have mentioned, but it’s really comfortable once you get to sleep. We were out and about most of the time anyway. The shower takes a bit too long to warm up, wasting a lot of water, and the old, thin towels really need replacing. There were some mosquitos around the room. We had no problem after using a plug-in repellent, which is useful to bring when travelling around Thailand anyway.

We came from Canada, our first time in Thailand, and booked this place online because it was a good deal. We were really pleased with the choice. The staff were super friendly, breakfast was pretty good, and the coffee was excellent. Our room was dope and much brighter than it looked in the picture. The pool isn't very deep but was great for cooling off. It’s about a five minute walk to the moat, with free parking and a nice koi pond with a waterfall.
