I came back each day after three weeks at massage school to a quiet, relaxing place where I felt safe. It suited me so well that I extended my stay, and I’ll happily return. The kitchen had everything I needed to make my own meals, even a coffee machine and free beans. My bed was comfortable, the sheets stayed clean and soft, and the essentials were there: air conditioning, a desk, smart TV, hot water, shampoo and soap. It was easy to rest on the peaceful street. The housekeeper kept everything neat and spotless, and was always around working hard. Remember to tip her.

I spent a month at the old car guest house and would absolutely stay again. Nuii runs the place, speaks great English, and is so helpful. She can suggest good places to eat. The guest house is nicely placed between the old city and the nimmanhemin road. The room was just the right size for me as a traveler, clean and well cared for. I heard it was renovated recently. The bed was comfortable, the linens and bathroom spotless, and the WiFi was fast. Nuii is super cool. Five stars!

Nui, the main host, speaks excellent English and the staff were friendly. Longer stays can get a pretty cheap monthly rate. The rooms are quite basic and small, though, and the bed wasn't especially comfortable.
