Tri Gong Hotel

The staff were very friendly, the owner was helpful, and a very sweet dog named Muffin greets you at reception. My room was a good size, clean and smelled fresh, with a big refrigerator, a table with a mirror, a suitcase table, a closet, a table, a very good aircon, and a really comfortable bed. The TV didn’t work, but I don’t come to Thailand to watch TV. Wi-Fi was strong. The outside night lights made the room quite bright, so opaque curtains would help. Bookings says the property is smoke-free, but people smoke in the courtyard. I didn’t smell it in my room, which was away from the courtyard. I’m a fussy old man, and I liked the place. I’d stay in room 201 again. Edit: I left my charger behind when I checked out, and it was waiting for me at reception the next day.

The bed was the one thing I didn’t like. It’s a thin mattress on a low wooden frame, with no box spring. I’d never had trouble with a bed before, but I’m getting older. Everything else was clean, and the place felt safe with nice staff. My room was very clean, though a chair with a back would’ve been useful. They also let me check in early. I’d stay again if I were in a jam.

The staff were amazing and really friendly, and the mattress was the best I’ve had in Thailand. But the room wasn’t quiet at all, it was warm, and the shower smelled like a sewer. If you’re on a budget and really need this location, it’s an okay hotel.

The location was perfect, right in the center but far enough from the main road, and the air conditioning was new. I stayed three nights. The room wasn’t very soundproof, though evenings were generally quiet, apart from a neighbor slamming doors. The curtains let in light, so I woke up from it every morning. After the first night, the cleaning wasn’t great, but I mentioned it and it improved the next day. The toilet flush also occasionally needed fixing in the middle of the night, which was inconvenient.
