Vipa House

The people who work at vipa were the best part of our stay. They were so helpful with anything we asked, from booking a tour to finding a taxi. After checkout, we spent the day walking around while waiting for our night bus, and they let us use a bathroom to shower before traveling. Such lovely people. The location was very good, and our room was nice and clean. No bed bugs!

We were traveling around Asia on a backpacker’s budget for about five months, and this was one of the nicer places we found for the price. Our twin fan room was big, with comfortable beds, and it felt like a bargain. The reception staff were friendly and gave us a map, plus any information we needed. WiFi worked without any issues.

There’s no food available at the hotel. It’s just off Loi Khao Road and, for the price, was about what I expected. The fresh, clean bedding was good, some toiletries were provided, and the room had both strong air conditioning and a fan. But the decor and fixtures felt tired and could use some TLC, a thorough clean, and servicing. It wasn’t quite what I’d expected from the other reviews.

For about $15, it’s a decent place near the town center, with large rooms and friendly staff. The rooms are very outdated, though. Mosquitoes get in through an unscreened vent, and the toilet has low pressure, so it takes repeated flushing. Watch out for air that can shoot toilet water back up. The water comes out brown, so let it run for a bit. The staff are usually on their phones, like many workers in Thailand.
