The place was spotless and really comfortable, and I had a fantastic stay at Chat House Hotel in Chiang Rai. The reception team were welcoming and helpful the whole time. Everyone went out of their way to make sure I had what I needed, always with a smile. Big thanks to the staff for their hospitality. I'd happily recommend the hotel to anyone visiting Chiang Rai.

The rooms were a good size, and the hotel was clean and quiet. Breakfast was decent too. The bathroom was the letdown: the toilet, shower and basin are all in one room, so everything got very wet. There was hardly any hot water, and the bathroom was quite old with some mold. It was okay, but I'm not sure I'd stay again.

The rooms and bathroom feel dated, and the whole place is in poor condition and due for renovation. There was an unpleasant smell in both the room and bathroom. We didn't enjoy the stay at all, and felt misled by the supposedly good reviews we'd read.

It was clean and good value, and I'd stay again. The beds were hard and the room was a bit dark, though. The hotel is around a 15 minute walk from the bus terminal and fairly far from most places. That wasn't a big deal for me, but it could matter to other people. I'd give it 4.5 if I could.
