For 300 baht a night, this is a very reasonable place to stay. It’s a basic two-star spot for travelers, though I’d give it four stars as a great stay. In the town center, with hot showers, clean and secure rooms, free Wi-Fi, cold beer, and friendly staff. Safe for travelers too. Enjoy.

For 500 baht, the air-conditioned room was huge and spacious. It’s close to the night market and everything else you need, so great value. I’ll stay here again when I’m back in Chiang Rai.

We only stayed one night while heading to Phu Chi Fa. It’s cheap, and I wouldn’t call it dirty, so it works if all you need is an inexpensive place to sleep. I wouldn’t go out of my way to recommend it. Wat Rong Khun is worth a visit, since it’s unlike other temples in Thailand. On the drive to Chiang Rai we also came across a beautiful abandoned temple near Thaweesin Hot water spring. I couldn’t find its name online, but it’s worth stopping to explore if you’re passing that way.

The receptionist was so friendly, but the room felt very old and the toilet was dirty. At 650 baht, it seemed too expensive for that quality. It was just OK.
