Golden Triangle Inn

This was one of the most unusual places I've stayed in Chiang rai/Chiang Mai. I spent a weekend in Chiang rai and found it about a five-minute walk from bus terminal 1 and the Saturday night market and food bazaar. There's beautiful greenery and a garden, and the room designs and decor are really cool. I liked it much more than a standard hotel room. The host was super nice and speaks Chinese and English. At checkout he asked where I was heading next, and when it turned out I'd left my charger behind, he biked over to bring it to me. Such a sweet host. I had an amazing stay, and would highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys nature and finding a unique spot.

The owners made the stay easy, helping with tours and whatever advice I needed. Breakfast was cooked fresh, and bananas were available all day. The room had good A/C and a hard bed, which I actually liked. I spent five nights here and found it quiet at night despite being close to restaurants, bars, and Walking Street. For the price, it was fantastic. I’d stay again if I’m back in Chiang Rai. Thanks!

There’s a veranda where you can sit and relax, and food stalls in the courtyard cook fresh food in the evening. We only came for a short visit and arrived in the afternoon, but the staff arranged transport to the attractions within half an hour. They were kind, attentive, and so helpful. The room had what we needed, including A/C and a ceiling fan, which I prefer. It’s a good choice if you want somewhere more traditional than a chain, and the value was excellent.

It may get a little loud, but that’s Asia. The owner was extremely nice and hospitable. Enjoy your stay!
