We spent 3 nights here, and it was the best mix of price and luxury we had in Thailand during our month-long trip. The staff were super friendly, and the room was spacious and clean, with a very comfortable bed. The shower drained slowly, though. It’s a little outside town, about a 15-minute walk along busy roads to the center. I’d still choose this location if I came back, since I wouldn’t want to stay in the busy city. We hired a scooter, and the hotel had undercover parking. It was handy for the bus station and airport, both of which we used. The rooftop pool was lovely for any spare time. Breakfast was really good too. I’m gluten free and had noted it in the booking, but on the first morning they said, “we have no bread.” That was fine with me, since gluten-free bread is hard to find in Thailand. I didn’t mention it again, but the next day the waitress brought out amazing gluten-free bread, and I had it again on day 3. I really appreciated that.

The room was very spacious, including the shower, and the bed was super comfortable. The hotel looks new, has a lovely pool, and the staff were incredibly friendly. Breakfast was excellent for such a small hotel, with a different selection each day. Check-in and check-out were easy. A smart TV would have been nice since we couldn’t connect to YouTube, and bedside lights would be a useful addition, but those are minor points. I’d definitely recommend it.

We stayed in a spacious, cozy superior twin room with very comfortable beds, and the shower had just the right pressure and temperature. The rooftop pool has a nice city view, and there was even a bidet. Breakfast was included, with a decent rotating selection of Thai and Western dishes. The hotel is in a prime spot, about a 10-minute walk from the city center, but away from the hustle and bustle. The staff were attentive and provided excellent service. Check-in and checkout were quick and easy, and they gave us a souvenir at checkout for Christmas, which was so nice. Hotel Selene Chiang Rai will be my first choice if I return to Chiang Rai. Thanks to the staff for such a pleasant stay!

The staff were so friendly and helpful, and couldn’t be faulted. We had a plentiful breakfast with omelettes made to order, Asian dishes, and the usual breakfast items. The hotel is in a quiet residential area without traffic noise. Getting into town means crossing a very large road, but traffic was never too busy and it was easy to cross; after that it’s a 10-minute walk to the night markets and restaurants. We had an excellent 4 night stay at Hotel Selene. Our pool access room on the 7th floor was very spacious, with an absolutely huge bed. The shower took a while to get hot, but stayed at a constant temperature after that. The air conditioning was very cold, and so was the pool water, far too cold for me. The pool area has beautiful views over Chiang Rai. It’s a comfortable, new hotel, and I’d happily stay again. Highly recommended.

The staff were excellent and always ready to help, and breakfast was more than adequate. There’s a veranda around the entrance where it was nice to sit and have a drink after sightseeing. The hotel is in a relatively quiet area. Walking to the busier parts of Chiang Rai takes a little effort because you have to cross a main road, but once across, everything is accessible. Our room was spacious and the shower room was pretty decent.
