Inn Come Hotel Chiangrai

The people were the best part of my five-night stay. The receptionists and room cleaner were lovely, and reception was staffed 24/7. The older man and woman always greeted me and asked if I needed anything. The price was incredibly low, the air conditioning worked great, and the beds were comfortable. The Wi-Fi could be patchy depending on the room, but when I had a connection it worked really well. Even though there are lots of nightclubs nearby, the noise in my room was very faint, and being in the middle of town was convenient. I also got two free bottles of water each day. The place was very quiet for guests. I was there over Chinese New Year and saw maybe five or six other guests in my five days. The bathroom was a hassle: I had to adjust the water pressure so it wouldn’t trickle down the tiles and across the floor. The countertop was chipped, and the light flickered several times before coming on. On days I left valuables in the room, room service locked my door after cleaning. But twice, when I had valuables with me and left clothes in the room, I came back to an unlocked door. That felt unsettling. I worked in my room for 12 hours during the stay. I arrived at night, and wandering the hallways made me wonder if this was where I was going to die. It must have been beautiful 15 years ago, but it seems to have been let go since and has an eerie vibe. It’s far from perfect, but can still be nice if you set your expectations right. I’d stay again for a night or two because the price is crazy low. For a week, no, I’d pay a little more for a busier, more lived-in hotel.

I paid $18 Canadian and was too tired to leave, lol, though there were other hotels for the same price. It felt almost abandoned: the place has 100 rooms, but only three people were staying there. The bed was the worst I’ve had in seven weeks. There was no box spring, just a pee-stained mattress with a cover and a rock-hard mattress on top. Very creepy vibes.

The room was spacious and quiet, and it had a bathtub, a refrigerator, and a bit of a view. Good value.

The staff are truly amazing, and the place is clean. It’s near central Chiang Rai.
