The Saturday market is very close, and the center is about a 10-minute walk away. I got a really good price, too. The room wasn't large, but it was spotless, with a comfortable bed, hot shower, big desk and fridge. Staff were friendly, and there's a spacious shaded parking area that was great for my motorbike.

I came back twice in one month, mostly for the peaceful setting and the staff, who always welcomed me with a smile and a friendly hello. The hotel sits on a shady, tree-lined street a couple of minutes from the center, with little hustle and bustle, though Chiang Rai is pretty quiet anyway. Mornings came with free coffee, tea, snacks and fruit. The rooms had what I needed: air conditioning, Wi-Fi, a clean space, free bottled water and Thai cable TV, which was entertaining. The showers were typical Thai style. I liked sitting on the shady patio and watching birds, squirrels and Thai cats. There's also a cool, shaded smoking area downstairs, free covered parking on site, and easy access to temples and other things to see and do.

I visit Chiang Rai almost every year, and this may be my new regular hotel. The price and location are great, and it's clean, comfortable, friendly, with everything I need.

The room was clean and a really good price, and breakfast was simple but tasty, with bananas, coffee, tea and cereal. The staff were always nice. I was alone in a room with two single beds. For the first two nights, I slept on one bed and couldn't move when I woke up. I'm 31 and super active, so that was awful. One night I made a second bed from pillows at the end of the bed. I moved to the other bed for the third night and did better.

The staff don't speak much English, and breakfast is limited, but it was a nice extra for the price. Pretty good value.
