SC Palace Chiangrai Hotel

For around 400B on Agoda, this older hotel is good value for a night or two, as long as you don't expect luxury. It isn't really a palace, just a large complex of three buildings with rooms over three floors and no elevator. The rural setting is quiet, and our room was mostly peaceful, apart from the occasional footsteps or door slam from other guests. The basics were there: air conditioning, a large fridge, a TV, dated furniture, and a bare-bones bathroom with hot water and good pressure. The bed was about average for Thailand, neither especially hard nor soft. You can get hot drinking water in the lobby, though there isn't a kettle in the room. Internet was slow and kept cutting out despite the visible routers, so we relied on a phone hotspot. Parking also seemed limited if the hotel were full.
