Room7 feels like a modern apartment, with a nice sliding door, a big TV, and a bed I found comfortable. But the atmosphere is cold and impersonal, the little balcony has no view or useful features, and the room feels small next to the TV. Only two pillows, no blackout curtains by the bay window, and you can hear the neighbors through the walls. Wi-Fi handled YouTube or Netflix, but didn’t seem fast enough for work or heavier software. The basics are there, including a hairdryer and small gym, but supplies are extremely limited: two forks, spoons, plates, glasses and cups, just two hangers, no bathroom glasses, knives, iron, or hygiene kit. The bathroom is okay for a quick shower, though it gets so humid the towels won’t dry, and the toilet paper was already half used when I arrived. The apartment looked reasonably clean, but the microwave was dirty, and the damp smell made the laundry stay wet. Reception can help during the day, but I couldn’t find pre-arrival or online support, and there’s no service in the evening or if something goes wrong at night. It may work for a night or two if you only need somewhere to sleep and don’t expect much customer service. Otherwise, the bare minimum and a comfortable bed don’t make up for the limited amenities or lack of warmth. My score: 52/100. The neighborhood has street food and a lively feel if you have a scooter. A lively beach, monkey mountains, and an elephant sanctuary are about 30 km away, but getting around on foot is inconvenient. For the price, the services fall short. I’ve seen much better equipped stays in other tourist towns for 30% less. Some modern touches are nice, but there were no extras or signs of attention to detail.
