Sunset Park Resort and Spa by SWR

We were in building 404, with a perfect view of the water and pool. Dinner was great, especially the phad Thai, and the AC worked well. The staff were very kind and the service was perfect. Security made rounds all night, which I was fine with. It’s a beautiful little resort, but it’s genuinely rustic and nature themed. The bathrooms are outside but covered, and they look beautiful. Still, seeing red ants in there made taking a bath less relaxing. Don’t squash them, because they leave a bad-smelling residue. I’d happily stay again for two nights, just knowing what to expect.

There are four swimming pools, two of them small pools for kids, and the resort sits right by the beach with some shady spots. I loved how quiet and peaceful it was. The place is old and nature is taking over some facilities, but its old-fashioned style has a certain charm. Wandering around, you come across lovely corners like a pond, a little waterfall, and the old spa that’s now closed. It must have been quite something in its day. Our room was roomy and comfortable, with a large semi-outdoor bathroom. I’d gladly come back.

The bar closed too early, but I still wouldn’t hesitate to return. We really enjoyed our stay. The staff were fantastic, friendly and polite, and the food came in huge portions and tasted excellent. Our clean villa hut/bungalow was great, though the shower could use an update. There are two pools, which should be good in high season. A lovely place to chill out and relax.

The views and sunsets are fantastic, and the whole place feels green and peaceful. The barman was especially friendly and helpful, congratulations to him. The menu has plenty of variety for different tastes, though a few more vegan choices would be welcome. The rest of the staff were friendly too, even if some don’t speak English very well. Our clean cabin was charming, but a bit run down. The rooms sold for four people have only one bedroom, and sometimes there isn’t a second bed.
