The Blue C Donsak

We’ve stayed here twice now and keep coming back whenever we need an early ferry. It’s a simple, inexpensive hotel, but the bed is huge and comfy. Breakfast is discounted, and the toast and drink are really tasty.

After driving from Phuket, we arrived in Don Sak in the dark to catch a ferry to Koh Samui. It was a relief to settle into a comfortable hotel. There doesn't seem to be much around, and finding food late can be tricky since only a few places are open in the evening. We ended up with snacks from 7/11. The room was quite decent. The hotel provided earplugs, which I recommend using because the fishing boats and small ferries make a lot of noise. Breakfast was basic, just coffee and a sandwich, but better than nothing. There’s no elevator, so you may need to carry your bags upstairs unless you can leave them in the car. There's parking nearby, and the ferry is about a seven-minute drive away. Convenient. I guess it's the best hotel in the area.

The ocean view was well worth getting there just before sunset. I only stayed one night after an eight-hour drive, ahead of the ferry to Samui, and the bed was super comfortable. You can hear the shuttle boat coming and going, but I found it charming and it added to the place. I'd stay here again without hesitation.

The setting is picturesque and the place has a laid-back feel. It’s right at the edge of town, so there aren’t many cafes or food options nearby. There are two 7-Elevens for anything you need. One thing to know: there’s no elevator, so guests have to haul heavy bags up three floors. Not a deal breaker for me, and maybe a bit of exercise. The place itself is absolutely stunning.
