Blue Orchids Hotel

It seems like a good-value hotel for Thai guests. As foreigners, though, we ran into a lot of little frustrating things, and it didn’t feel very tourist-friendly.

It’s about 3 km from Hatyai city center, and the area around the hotel is clean and away from heavy traffic. The rooms and the hotel itself were tidy too. Staff were friendly and the service felt like a 5-star hotel. My family and I would definitely stay again if we go to Hatyai. Best wishes to the management, and congratulations.

There’s a halal stall right across from the hotel, which is handy if you’re Muslim, and a supermarket nearby. The town isn’t too far either. Parking is a bit tight, but there’s enough space for each room.

The location didn’t look like much at first, but the side streets nearby, away from the university, have some lovely trendy cafes and restaurants at both high and reasonable prices, with Western and Thai food. I had a pleasant stay, and the pool was a nice bonus. The sauna wasn’t switched on, though, and its limited evening hours weren’t posted anywhere. There was hair caught on the curtains above my headboard, not mine. Apart from that, the room seemed clean.
