Ton Aoi Grand Hotel

During the flood in Hatyai, my family and I were staying at Ton Aoi. Khun Tar and her team worked tirelessly to help everyone, arranging contact with rescue teams and finding food. They brought the kitchen stove upstairs and cooked with whatever ingredients were available, making sure guests had food and water. One staff member was seven months pregnant and was still busy cooking and helping people. We can never repay the kindness and love they showed us, and we're so thankful they were there for us. We're saddened by the loss of your homes and hope you can stay strong. We'll definitely return to Ton Aoi, and we'd urge anyone wanting a good stay in Hatyai with caring people to come here. We hope the hotel bounces back soon and that the staff and people of Hatyai recover from this tragedy. We'll keep Hatyai in our prayers.

Getting to places like greenway market and central hatyai takes around 10-20 minutes, depending on where you're headed, so you'll need transport. There are local stalls nearby, though. The family room was comfortable and had a balcony, and the receptionists were warm and gave me a few manicure place recommendations. I really liked the breakfast fried rice, which came with a generous amount of prawns, and the kuih was good too.

There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance, and the staff were kind, helpful, and spoke excellent English. Breakfast came as a set with lots of Thai and Western choices; it was delicious and filling. The hotel is modern and attractive, with spacious rooms, comfortable beds and pillows, and a modern bathroom with warm showers. The pool was adequate, with a small, lovely garden beside it.

They promised a mountain view, but from our second-floor room we were looking at the roofs of other shophouses. We also weren't told that the pool would be closed for our entire stay, which was disappointing at a hotel that looks so nice. There were three of us but we only got one key. The dining room was about the only other place to go, and it was usually empty. No bar, no music, just a pretty stale atmosphere. Quite sad.
