I had no kids and didn’t realize the hotel would be like this. The pool shown in the booking.com photos is the private resident pool, which guests like us weren’t allowed to use. The hotel pool had been turned into a children’s playground, so swimming was impossible, and the noise made it impossible to rest on the sofa beds. Breakfast was overcrowded, with kids running everywhere, and food wasn’t replenished in time. At that room rate, I didn’t expect to have to fight for a croissant. The hotel seems to focus its marketing on families with young kids, and it isn’t adult friendly. If you don’t have a young kid, don’t go. Parking was easy and the location wasn’t too bad, but the beach was far away and meant walking in the sun. The rooms were okay, though a bit run down. Ours had no view at all because a tall building 10m away blocked it. I’m not interested in visiting again.

I left without ever going into my room because I felt unsafe. On arrival at Amari Hua Hin, two men connected with a tour group stared at me continuously, which made me very uncomfortable. I asked to cancel before entering the room, and the front desk initially dismissed my concern. After checking CCTV, the hotel acknowledged that the men had been staring. Still, the manager refused to refund me, brushed it off by saying “they were only looking, it's not a big deal,” and told me to file a report myself if I wanted my money back. I had chosen the hotel expecting privacy and professional service. This felt deeply unsettling and reflected, to me, a serious lack of professional standards and proper screening of people allowed to work on the premises. Management showed no empathy and failed to provide a secure environment. That’s unacceptable. If privacy and safety matter to you, look elsewhere.

The rooms are starting to feel a little dated, but we had a very good month-long stay at amari hua hin from January 2026. The room attendant for 1720 did a great job, and the doormen, including Kratum, were always cheerful and attentive. MR IAN ACOSTA, the assistant manager on duty, was especially helpful, always smiling and available for our needs and small issues, which he handled to our satisfaction. The food team also did well, with Ms Nong managing the service, and Mook, Tan at the soup counter, Mr Eak, and head server Supatra all looking after guests with a smile. The pool was a decent size and consistently clean. The breakfast buffet was worth the package price, and the hotel is well designed, with quality items used throughout, from the cutlery to the beach chairs.

I stayed in a sea-view room twice, November 6-9, 2025 and February 15-20, 2026. The hotel has a large pool and works for a quick one- or two-night stop as well as a week or two in the sun, if this kind of place suits you. There’s a restaurant nearby, the sea is about 200 meters away, a larger shopping center is a 10-minute drive, and parking is free. The rooms were clean and fresh, with bed firmness around 4 on my scale and value for money about 6. Breakfast was very good. I rated its selection and quality 8, and its value 9. My main concern was how room requests were handled. On both stays, asking for a high floor and a room away from the elevator seemed to cause staff a lot of trouble. I got the sense that things stayed peaceful only if I had no requests and did what the staff preferred. Sea views seem best from the 6th or 7th floor. Mountain-view rooms face a larger road and railway, and there’s an unpleasant smell that comes and goes. Concerts also make weekends noisy. The pool closes at 7 PM every day, even though the bar stays open until 9 PM on Fridays and Saturdays. My bed scale runs from 0 for sinking into the mattress, 5 average, to 10 for lying on top. For value, 0 means money thrown away, 5 is break even, and 10 is the best return. For breakfast, 1 means a sparse selection, terrible quality, or poor value, and 10 means an overwhelming choice, the best possible quality, or definitely worth the price.
