My month here flew by, and next time I’ll stay longer. I liked walking when the tide allowed, sometimes down to the Hilton hotel at the end of the beach, or the other way toward Monkey Mountain and a charming fishing-boat area with fresh seafood stalls and affordable restaurants. There are plenty of places to eat, including two nightmarket areas, without going into town. Bluport and Market Village are just a 15 baht baht-bus ride away. I stayed in building A for a fabulous month. The king-size bed was firm, and I had a large balcony facing Route 4. You can hear some road noise, but it never bothered me. The late-afternoon sun on the balcony and the sunset view were lovely. The bathroom was clean and functional, and the bedroom was well appointed with a fridge. There’s a pool and a small gym too. It’s a value-for-money hotel at the lower end of the price scale, so expectations need to match that, though for me it went well beyond them. The beach is about a 25-minute walk, and the baht bus route into Hua Hin is about 20 minutes.

The room had a strong sewage smell, and the air conditioner gave off a stale, unpleasant odor. It didn’t feel clean: I saw visible dirt, considerable mold in several spots, and electrical outlets that looked burned and damaged. My stay was very disappointing, and the room was in very poor condition in my experience. I also had a bad experience with the staff. Communication was difficult, and I didn’t feel my concerns were taken seriously. They offered no solution, refund for my unused nights, or even a paid upgrade. I was told there were no other rooms, yet I saw vacant rooms myself and also saw availability on booking platforms at the time. That was confusing. The property seems to have previously been called Highway Hotel, which has many negative reviews online. It’s currently listed on booking platforms as Blue Horizon, but from what I observed, guests are staying in the same rooms and the exterior sign still has the old hotel name. The stay didn’t meet my expectations, and I wouldn’t choose it again.
