Hua Hin Home Hill

The room was simple but attractive, clean, and tidy, with a big balcony overlooking hua hin. It was quiet, and only a two-minute drive to nearby tops. They left water, coffee, tea, and toilet roll outside the door every day. The Wi-Fi and bed were good, though the pillow was a bit firm. The drive up, to bungalow 5 in my case, might put some people off. The dogs belong to the lady here. They’re fine, just noisy at first. I’d come back and recommend it to people who aren’t too fussy about judging a book by its cover.

The view and balcony were really nice, and the bed was very comfortable. But 9,000 Baht went missing from my bag while the room was being cleaned. I confronted the woman who handles reception and cleaning and asked if anyone else had been in the room or if another person had a key. She said no, so it seemed only she and I had access. When I told her a large amount of money was missing, she denied it and kept saying she wasn’t responsible for my valuables. There’s no safe, and I was left with the loss and no helpful response. The room smelled strongly of chlorine and urine, probably because of the old bathroom. Ants and bugs were crawling around, and the Wi-Fi in Bungalow 3 barely worked. The dogs barked and growled aggressively whenever I arrived, whether on foot or scooter. The place is remote, so you absolutely need a scooter or you’ll be stranded. It was an extremely disappointing stay, and I can’t recommend it.

The room is pretty, the prices are nice, and the staff are friendly. But the shower barely put out any water, so I couldn’t shower.

The peaceful setting was my favorite part. From here you can look out over Hua Hin, with green surroundings, valleys, and cool air coming down from the mountains. It felt calm and made me happy to stay. The front desk lady was very friendly, though she doesn’t speak English, so sorting things out was a little difficult. I booked after arriving, and check-in wasn’t as smooth that way. I’d book ahead next time.
