Hua Hin Sport Villa

You can keep busy here with the sports facilities, including tennis and golf, or just relax in the peaceful setting. The villa has a swimming pool too, and it’s conveniently placed for getting to Hua Hin’s attractions while still offering a quiet retreat. A good fit if you want both activity and downtime.

I stayed in a newly renovated room with high, old-style ceilings and thick walls, so there wasn’t heat coming through the walls. The two big pools are lovely, and the pool is one of the best in Huahin. The gym has original US equipment, and the restaurant food is good. Laundry and the smoking area are handy, and the place is a little off the road. For a kitesurfer, the location is perfect, with the beach just a two-minute walk away. Perfect for me.

I came back because I liked the pool, and I’d also recommended the place to a friend. He booked six weeks through Booking.com, but his room was owned by someone other than the company that owns the pool. He had to pay 150 baht a day to use it, or there was a monthly rate. I booked another way, and pool access was included in my daily price. The rooms are basic, with no kettle, so I bought one for 199 baht for my morning tea and coffee. Apart from that, my room was clean and cleaned daily, with fresh towels. My friend’s room was cleaned just once a week, and he had to be there when they did it. There are two pools. The smaller one is free and gets sun later in the afternoon. The bigger one, which you may have to pay to use, is sunny most of the day and has a restaurant. The beach is a 10-minute walk across a road that can be busy. Market Village is about a 20-minute walk past Blueport shopping mall, or you can take the green pickup bus for 15 baht, which is easier. I’d stay here again on my next Hua Hin trip, but it doesn’t suit my family since the rooms are only for one or two people.

I’ve only used the gym and restaurant, not stayed here. The gym is good value, usually very quiet, and has basic equipment that works fine. There are two pools, including a full-size, 25-metre one that’s open to the public. The restaurant serves good-quality Thai food at a good price. I haven’t tried the European dishes. Staff are friendly and accommodating.
