Huahin Star Hotel

The main issue was paying the deposit by bank transfer. We sent the money to the 'hotel' and emailed several times, but never got an acknowledgement. The hotel's account and the owner's bank account turned out to be completely different, so while we were there it was difficult to prove the deposit had been paid. I’d use a popular booking site or pay cash on arrival. Otherwise, it’s a good budget option one lane back from the beach. Our large room and balcony were great value, and the bathroom was clean and functional. The little street is very quiet, with plenty of places nearby for breakfast or a meal.

I had a wonderful few days here. It’s about 100 metres from the beach, on a quiet street with a few restaurants, and a great shopping mall is seven minutes away. The woman at reception was very good.

It’s an older hotel, but everything worked and it was exceptionally clean for its age. The bed and mattress were comfortable, and the beach is walkable. Guests share a basic pool with other hotels and guesthouses on the same little street. It has only concrete seating, but it’s clean and fine for a dip. At this price, having a pool is a real bonus. I used the Bolt app for cheap taxis around town and would happily stay again.

This is a small, clean, quiet place at the end of the street, about 50 metres from the water. But in March 2022 a new manager arrived and she didn’t want to serve breakfast. That brings down the overall impression, especially since the price wasn’t reduced and the hotel is now significantly more expensive than others nearby. Parking in Soi 67 is challenging, and with 16 rooms the hotel has only one parking space.
