They charged me for something that wasn’t there. A “condom” was supposedly kept in the drawer, according to the staff member who insisted it had been there, but it was missing. I’d checked in alone, for the record. It’s only 50thb, but the issue is the staff’s negligence in doing their job.

We were looking for a peaceful place, which is our main requirement, and the weekends here repeatedly fell short. From Friday night until Sunday morning, it was often a party hotel. People around 25 drank, played cards, and had music going all night. The nighttime staff let them carry on and didn’t seem to care when we complained. We complained alongside the neighbours, but the noise continued because the guests knew the night staff would let them do anything. We tried this place on many weekends, and it was the same bad story most of the time. Monday through Friday morning, it was very quiet, and the daytime staff were great and helpful. The owner couldn’t disagree with us about the weekend noise, though perhaps he doesn’t know since he doesn’t live there. The place might be perfect for young people on weekends who want freedom and no rules, but we’re not 25 anymore. A cheap place shouldn’t have to mean a noisy one. We stayed a month because 6000 bahts was a very attractive monthly price. Electricity was extra at 8 bahts for 1 kwh. One small detail: my girlfriend is Thai and knows Thai culture very well.

It was a bad night, so I checked out the next day. The hotel looked clean, and the people were nice and helpful, but I got bird on my leg from bed bugs. It wasn’t a nice hotel.

The room we’d reserved by phone had been rented to someone who arrived before us. This was late at night, and we couldn’t find another hotel, so we had to drive to BKK. Not good.
