Jenny Hostel HuaHin

The staff were incredibly friendly, and I’d absolutely stay here again. It’s a great affordable option in Hua Hin, with cold air conditioning, Wi-Fi over 150 Mbps, a fridge, kettle for coffee and tea, a big bed, and even a small sofa. The view from the upper floors is nice, and there’s a new restaurant/cafe due to open on the top floor with a city view. Payment on arrival is cash only. There’s no elevator, but it’s just three floors, so that wasn’t an issue for me. Friendly Thai hospitality at its best.

The family restaurant has excellent homemade food, and there’s a lovely terrace where you can enjoy it while looking over the neighborhood. The hotel itself is small, quiet, and right in the city center. Rooms are spacious and clean.

Jenny’s Hostel felt more like coming home than checking into a hostel. Jenny and her crew, a mix of family and friends, are kind and around for a chat. I even got to practice my pretty questionable Thai. Rooms are all private, though some fit bigger travel groups. They’re cozy, clean, and cool with AC, with private bathrooms, hot water, Western toilets, and a small patio. Water refills and room refreshes are daily. Home-cooked breakfast and lunch cost a little extra, and were worth it to me. The location is right on the night market. After 4 PM, tuk-tuks may only drop you at the end of the street, so there’s a short walk. I managed it with help and my two giant suitcases. It’s also walkable from the train station, a backpacker dream. Laundry was fast, often same-day, at 50 baht per kilo or 100 with ironing. Still, allow 24 hours in high season in case lots of people want laundry done that day. There’s a rooftop restaurant with a lovely breeze, and Jenny can arrange a driver for outings. If you want somewhere quiet, modest, comfortable, and close to everything, Jenny’s is a great place to stay. Come for the convenience, stay for the kindness. Support local, live local.

Jenny’s a great cook, so try breakfast at the hostel. The hotel and cafe prices are reasonable, and you can walk to the beach. I had a great stay.
